The driver suffered injuries and underwent multiple operations due to the incident. The driver sustained lung and trachea injuries from the incident. A police report was filed, but the report number was not provided to the contact. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. After the incident occurred, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags). Took my SUV for an airbag recall and when it was completed my truck AirBag light was left on. My truck did not have that light on when I arrived at the location. Dealer mentioned not knowing what to do about it. I made a complaint and nothing was done by the dealer.

The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V052000(AIRBAGS); however, upon contacting the dealer, she was informed that the remedy may cause her dashboard to crack and she would be responsible for the repair. The manufacturer was then notified of the matter and confirmed that the dealer would not be held responsible for any cracks or damages to the dashboard. The contact stated that the manufacturer should cover the cost of the dashboard due to the recall. The vehicle had yet to be repaired for the recall. The contact had not experienced a failure.

IT'S BEEN OVER 4 YEARS SINCE RECEIVING THIS RECALL FOR AIRBAGS THAT CAN KILL ME INSTEAD OF PROTECT ME IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE BUT IT'S BEING IGNORED UNTIL EVERYONE EITHER FORGETS OR MORE PEOPLE DIE. I CAN'T GET THE DEALERS TO DISABLE OR REMOVE THE AIRBAG SO WHY EVEN GIVE ME RECALL NOTICE? I NEED THIS FIXED SO I CAN DRIVE SAFELY OR SELL MY VEHICLE WITHOUT CONCERN OF OTHERS.
I HAVE THREE GM VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME RECALL NOTICE (#49151) FROM JULY OF 2016. TO THIS DAY I KEEP BEING TOLD THE REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. WHAT SHOULD BE MY EXPECTATION FOR RESOLUTION? FORTUNATELY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A PROBLEM.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GM IN JULY 2016 REGARDING DEFECTIVE TAKADA AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE. I LIVE IN GEORGIA (USA) AND MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN STORED OUTSIDE IN HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS FOR THE PAST TWELVE (12) YEARS. THE VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY ACHIEVES AN INTERIOR TEMPERATURE EXCEEDING 200 DEGREESFAHRENHEIT DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS OF JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST. I HAVE CALLED GM ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TO OBTAIN INFORMATION REGARDING REPLACEMENT OF MY DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAGS AND GM CONTINUES TO RESPOND THAT THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT, DUE TO THE EXPOSURE OF MY VEHICLE TO THE EXTREME HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS IN GEORGIA, THAT MY AIRBAGS COULD POTENTIALLY INJURE, KILL, OR RESULT IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT IF AN AIRBAG FAILURE OCCURS DUE TO THE DEGRADATION OF THE AIRBAGS DUE TO THE EXTREME HEAT AND HUMIDITY THAT OCCURS IN GEORGIA. I OWN A VEHICLE WITH TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS. THEY HAVE BEEN UNDER RECALL SINCE 2017 AND THE RECALL HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BECAUSE TAKATA HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY AND GM DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION OR REMEDY APPARENTLY FOR THE RECALL!!! I NEED MY VEHICLE RECALL TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY! WHO'S TO KNOW IF MY AIRBAG INFLATORS ARE COMPROMISED AND I AM ANGRY THAT GM WILL NOT STEP UP AND FIND A SOLUTION AND PAY FOR THE RECALL!! THERE IS A RECALL ON MY CHEVY SUBURBAN WHERE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS. I HAVE BEEN CHECKING FOR A LONG WHILE ON WHEN THERE WILL BE A REMEDY FOR THIS RECALL AND EVERYTIME I CHECK THERE IS NOTHING NEW STATED. THIS DEFECT DEALS WITH THE AIR BAG. I RECEIVED A WRITTEN NOTICE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS AR RISK FOR AIR BAG FAILURE WITH ONSTRUCTIONS TO CONTACT MY DEALER TO SCHEDULE TO SCHEDULE REPAIRS. I DID AS INSTRUCTED, AND WAS ADVISED I WOULD BE CONTACTED FOR A SCHEDULED VISIT. I RECEIVED NO FOLLOW UP. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS REQESTING REPAIRS. I AM TOLD BY MANAGERS THERE THAT "NO FIX IS AVAILABLE". I NOTE REPORTS THAT OVER 1 MILLION VEHICLES HAVE BEEN REPAIRED. IT SEEMS THAT THE GM LOCAL DEALER IS EITHER UNIMFORMED, OR DELIBERATELY MISLEADING.
