The EVIC lights will turn off while driving. Doesn’t matter if it’s daylight or evening. During evening hours it poses a risk due to not seeing speed or any other lights on dashboard. The EVIC will stay on after car is shut off and key fob is moved away from vehicle causing the battery to die.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle failed to start. Due to the failure, the contact was forced to jumpstart the vehicle. There were several messages displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the messages disappeared while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on several occasions for the same failure. The contact stated that the battery, alternator, starter motor, and various other parts were replaced; however, the failure persisted. Recently, the contact stated that upon attempting to unlock the door with the key fob, the vehicle failed to unlock, and there was no power from the vehicle. The contact used the key to manually unlock the door, and the alarm system sounded off. Due to the key fob failing to operate as needed, the contact was unable to disengage the alarm. The vehicle failed to start while jumpstarting the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the doors continuously locked and unlocked, and the windows continuously rolled up and down unintendedly. Additionally, the interior lights and the exterior lights were turned off and on unintendedly. The contact also stated that a light indicating that the tailgate was opened was displayed while the tailgate was securely closed. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee for the diagnostic test would be charged. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

My vehicle has been stalling out while driving, to the point of the brakes lock up, once it’s in park you can’t get it out of park, or can’t get the vehicle to turn off while stalled out, literally have to disconnect the battery, and reconnect it to maybe get the car a fresh start to turn over and return power to systems. The check engine light pops on when stalled but not normally and is coding for crankshaft position sensor a circuit. My vehicle apparently doesn’t have an open recall; but have seen this same issue has been a recall on the same year, make, and model, just not mine. The dodge dealership would rather me sell them my car and buy a new one.

I was traveling on the highway when the vehicle suddenly, without warning, stalled and stopped running. I was able to cruise until the vehicle completely stopped. I was able to restart the engine by pushing the "start" button to off and then pushing my brake and the engine restarted successfully where I can drive to the shoulder off the road. Engine light turned on. I have a OBD scanner tool and the code that the tool read is P0335 Crankshaft Position sensor malfunction. Circuit A. I have about 52,000 miles on my odometer. This is a huge safety issue. At high speed, if the car stalls, this could lead to a significant accident. There was no warning prior to the engine stalling. I have a service appointment at Marino CJD next week. Marino CJD is located at 5133 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60641.

I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN IT SUDDENLY STOPPED. IT LOST ALL ELECTRIC POWER, NO EMERGENCY LIGHTS, CAN NOT SHIFT TO NEUTRAL, NO BRAKES, NO LIGHTS, CAN NOT UNLOCK DOORS, AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT DETECT THE KEY FOB. THIS HAPPEN WHILE TRAVELING ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD. DODGE DOES HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND I WAS DIRECTED TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR.

DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SWITCH WOULD NOT WORK EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. THEN STARTED MAKING CLICKING NOISE AND NOT WORKING. WILL NOT CONTROL ANY WINDOWS AND NO WINDOWS WILL GO UP OR DOWN. I HAVE SPENT ALOT OF MONEY REPLACING PARTS AND NOTHING IS FIXING THE PROBLEM AND WHEN I LOOK ONLINE FOR ADVICE I READ ABOUT THIS BEING A COMMON PROBLEM WITH DODGE JOURNEY AND ALSO READ THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS LED TO ELECTRICAL FIRE IN SOME VEHICLES. AROUND 11 MTHS AGO.PRESTON DEALERSHIP REPLACED 3 CENSORS BUT STILL ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON . THEN REPLACE ENGINE HARNESS IT WAS OK UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND CAR STALLED ALL 3 TIMES.HARD TIME STATING .AFTER AROUND 8 HOURS LIGHT GOES OUT .HAD CODE READ BY AUTO ZONE SHOWROOM CRANKSHAFT SENSOR AND HATNESS..ITS VERY UNSAFE WHEN MY CAR STALLS ON HIGHWAY IN HEAVEY TRAFFIC AT 70 MPHS. PLEASE HELP.

VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND REMOTE STARTED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. WE LOADED UP OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND STARTED SMELLING A STRONG PLASTIC/RUBBER BURNING SMELL THAT STINGS IN THE THROAT. THE SMELL WAS COMING OUT OF THE HEAT VENTS, COULD BE SMELLED OUTSIDE THE CAR AND UNDER THE HOOD. WE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND I LOOKED FOR THE SOURCE OF THE BURNING, BUT DIDN'T IMMEDIATELY FIND IT. AFTER SOME TIME WE RESTARTED AND WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND IT CAME BACK AGAIN. THIS TIME I LOCATED A GLOWING RED CHASSIS GROUND STRAP WIRE THAT WAS BURNING OFF THE COATING. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY HOUSE FOR INSPECTION DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. I NOTICED THAT THE METHOD OF ATTACHMENT OF THE SHEET METAL CLIP TO THE MOTOR MOUNT SEEMS DUBIOUS AS THIS TYPE OF CONNECTION MAY CAUSE HIGH ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE AND LEAD TO HEAT BUILD-UP. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WE WERE WAITING ON WARM-UP. HAD MY WIFE JUST DRIVEN OFF THE SMOKE SMELL WOULD HAVE BEEN A DISTRACTION AND COULD LEAD TO INCREASED CRASH RISK. ALSO WHEN THE WIRE FINALLY BURNED AND DISCONNECTED THE CIRCUIT, THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE STALLED IN AN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND LEAD TO A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,866.

WITH LESS THAN 16000 MILES HAVE HAD BATTERY DRAIN DOWN ON 3 OCCASIONS, IN ONE OCCASION LESS THAN 16 HOURS PARKED IN A HEATED GARAGE. BATTERY DISCHARGED TO THE THE POINT ONCE IGNITION TO START IS PRESSED, LIGHTS FLICKER, CLICKING SOUND FORM ENGINE COMPARTMENT, WONT EVEN STOP THIS ACTION BY TURNING IGNITION OFF. CHECK OF BATTERY VOLTAGE WAS 5.6 VOLTS, BATTERY REPLACED ON FIRST OCCASION BY DEALER, BOTH OTHER TIMES, DEALER CHARGED BATTERY AND NO APPARENT CODES TRIPPED. UNABLE TO LOCATE PROBLEM. NO LIGHTS ETC WERE LEFT ON ON EITHER FAILURE, PARKED IN HEATED GARAGE, DRIVEN FOR OVER 30 MILES EACH TIME. SOMETHING IS PUTTING A SEVERE DRAIN ON THE BATTERY IS A SHORT TIME.

THE WIRING HARNESS ON THE DRIVER DOOR, IS A PIECE OF CRAP. CHEAP CHINA THIN WIRE. BREAKS IT'S TERRIBLE. I NEVER SAW CHEAP#SS WIRE LIKE THAT. IT'S MORE BRITTLE, THAN PEANUT BRITTLE. THEN, I SEE ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED. WITH LABOR OVER $500.00 I DIDN'T PAY FOR CHEAP #SS WIRE'S TO BREAK, FOR ALMOST $30,000.00 I'VE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE IN ANY CAR I'VE EVER HAD IN THE PAST 30+ YEAR'S EVER. THE DOOR'S WON'T LOCK THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FLAAH. IT BEEPS. WTH..........

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2016 DODGE JOURNEY ON A STREET WITH A 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT WHEN IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND DIED. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR PLUG . WE PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON 4/19/19 AND IT DIED AGAIN ON 4/22/19. THIS TIME, THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, BUT HAD I BE TOWED AGAIN. THIS TIME, THEY REPLACED THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. WE FOUND A RECALL ISSUED BY NHTSA - RECALL S89/NHTSA 16V-907 COVERING 2016 JOURNEYS FOR THE ENGINE BUILT FROM MAY 8,2016 TO JULY 12, 2016. THE BUILD DATE ON THE JOURNEY WE BOUGHT WAS 8/13/2015 AND IN SERVICE DATE OF 1/15/2016. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY DENIED ANY RECALL INITIALLY ( SAME AS THE DEALERSHIP ) BUT THEN SAID THE BUILD DATE WAS SET OUTSIDE OF THE TIME FRAME SET BY NHTSA. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL PART, REPLACED. IN MY POSSESSION. I FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM MAY BE MORE WIDESPREAD AND MAY NOT BE REPORTED BY MORE PEOPLE BASED ON LACK OF ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY BOTH CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP AS THEY ARE WRITING IT OFF AS A PART THAT ' JUST BROKE '

THE DRIVERS SIDE MASTER PANEL WILL NOT ALLOW THE WINDOWS TO ROLL DOWN. THERE IS A CLICKING NOISE WHEN TRYING TO ROLL DOWN, AND A HUMMING NOISE WHEN TRYING TO ROLL UP. NONE OF THE WINDOW SWITCHES ON ANY OF THE WINDOWS WILL WORK NOW. THE LOCK/ UNLOCK BUTTONS AND THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS STILL WORK. I STOPPED AT A DRIVE THROUGH PHARMACY WINDOW AND IT WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN. IT WORKED YESTERDAY AND WILL NOT TODAY. NOTHING TRAUMATIC (SPILLS, ETC.) HAPPENED BETWEEN NOW AND THEN.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE THAT CAUSES THE BATTERY TO MALFUNCTION QUICKLY. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THE BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE FAILED FOUR TIMES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING WHEN THE BATTERY FAILED. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE VEHICLE ONLY BEING DRIVEN 4000 MILES A YEAR. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER: BRYANT MOTORS LOCATED AT 2901 S LIMIT AVE, SEDALIA, MO, 65301 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SHAFT SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 27,000.
