I have been having issues with my 2008 ford fusion. I did research and found that the is a Ford customer satisfaction program( campaign # 21N11) which also goes along with recall number 19S54 and ford is refusing to fix the issues. Their lots of complaints and somethingd needs to be done ASAP before someone gets hurt cause this has to do with the brakes.
HAVE TO PRESS DOWN HARD ON BRAKES TO SLOW OR STOP. HAD LANDMARK FORD INSPECT RECALL ISSUE & THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH BRAKES.
My brake pedal drops to the floor when braking at times. Mechanics say that is my ABS module. I believe this is a very common issue with these vehicles. This has happened to me several times. Only remedy without repair is disengaging the ABS system all together. There has not been a recall on this but there has been a customer satisfaction program associated with the brake system. I tried to have mine fixed and Ford says the program has expired. I feel like braking is the most important thing you need to be on the road. This needs to be a full recall and not a satisfaction program. Thank you
took in for two recalls to Serramonte ford, airbag recall fixed, braking issue not fixed due to as dealer put it, issues with computer system and was not given a timeframe to have it completed, vehicle was returned to me.
The vehicle brakes will engage at random intervals without the brake pedal being touched. This happens at all speeds, and even at a stop. Issue still occurs daily, and has been ongoing for 5+ years. Brake master cylinder and aux boost pump have been replaced twice with OEM parts, and three complete brake jobs (pads, calipers and rotors) in the last 5 years. At slower speeds, it manifests as a drag to forward motion. At higher speeds, the drag is more pronounced, and causes the car to decelerate. It has also caused the tires to "hop" during travel, causing loss of vehicle control. Luckily, no accidents so far. I am aware of the recall for the HCU (ABS Module) for this vehicle, but four different Ford dealerships have declined to examine closer, citing recall 19S54 as a "customer experience" issue, not a safety issue. The brake fluid replacement (DOT3 to DOT4) has been done, but dealer declined to examine or replace the HCU, citing "out of warranty".
Driving around 55 and put brakes on and went 3/4 to floor like they were out. 2 other people experienced the same. HCA Unit must be bad or corrosive. I read online about this. Ford has extended warranty recall and sent letter and fluid changed 14 yes later. We'll that's a little late cause obviously unit bad now. Ford dealer will not replace cause can't duplicate problem. If I wreck, Ford is liable for 4 to 5 people in car. Common sense would be REPLACE PART!!!
I am unable to safely brake. When I press my foot on the brake, it doesn’t engage until it completely touches the floor of the car.

Have to apply extra pressure to get my car to stop, which is obviously a huge safety risk if I can’t stop my car properly when braking. I’ve taken the car to a few different mechanics who cannot diagnose or fix the problem. Ford says they are “backed up” & don’t have the parts available yo fix the vehicle.
2008 Ford Fusion was recalled by Ford because of an anti-lock brake system failure. The first Safety Recall Notice 19S54 was issued in 2019. We got notification of the recall from ford in early 2020. The notification clearly stated and was confirmed by a call to Ford Corporate and our Ford Dealer Park Ford of Mahopac NY that parts for the repair were not available and that we would be informed when they do become available. We were informed that parts were available and we brought the car in for two recall repairs. A recall to replace the Driver side airbag was Completed but not for the Anti-lock brake system. Instead they ran a test on the system and a procedure to try to fix the issue without having to replace parts. This procedure rendered the car unsafe to drive because the brake pedal now needs to be pumped to get pressure for the brakes to be operational. Although this test failed and rendered the car unsafe ford released the car with a promise to replace the parts when they become available. A call to Ford corporate to inform them of this safety issue was that they have no programs that cover the vehicle any more to help in this situation. The Anti-lock brake system originally failed around 2014. We noticed the problem when the Anti-lock brake warning light would intermittently come on. After a period of time of daily driving the vehicle the light remained on the the brake system became spongy. Local repair confirmed the problem and diagnosed it to be an anti-lock brake HCU failure. After getting the vehicle to invoke the anti-lock system while driving the pedal fade disappeared. So the car drove normally but the Anti-lock light was illuminated. Every year the car passed NYS inspection and the brakes were tested. A total brake job replacing brake lines, calipers, drums and rotors was completed in 2020. The system passed with normal braking operation even though the Anti-lock Brake warning light was still on. So for years after the failure the system operated
we've had this vehicle at a ford dealership for 5 months to get the recall work done. the car reacts exactly as the recall is issued for, limited braking on a soft pedal but will stop. The dealer says their computer will not communicate with the car. They've exhausted all tries and Ford will not ship the part, an abs hcu, unless this communication verifies that it is the issue. Since it's all ford related and it's clear on our part what the problem is, our complaint is the company is trying to get away from fixing this serious problem by throwing up walls to hurdle. we've allready incurred significant expense to fix the issue prior to the recall, so it appears they don't want to reimburse those costs by fixing the vehicle. they just need to ship the part to the Helena Montana dealerhip and let them fix the car immediately.
This car has been taken to supposedly have the brake fluid flushed, changed and tested for not needing the ABS replaced. When picking the car up was not given any paperwork at all. The brake problem did not go away and the additional brake travel it needs to stop still exists. When I called the service manager for dealership who unless I said "don't you need my info?" would not have gotten it, never had the service agent dealing with my car call back at all. When trying to speak to Ford itself on social media, was ignored. My car has been to 2 other mechanics within 2 months, and barely 2 months after this supposed recall work was done. When doing a diagnosis for issues not related to recall, stated how my brake fluid was dirty and needed changing, when taking it to get tires replaced and totally different mechanic told me my brake fluid was really dirty, contaminated. How can all of this be if it was worked on? Why is my life not worthy enough to properly fix my car and have care? I have all of this documented. I want my brake fluid flushed, changed and want the ABS valve repaired because the "test" is wrong. Also want it to be my choice of dealership for it to go to properly be fixed.
MY CAR HAS HAD A RECALL SINCE LAST YEAR AND NO WORD ON WHEN IT CAN BE FIX.I CAN NOT HAVE A CAR THAT THE BREAKS MY GO OUT ON OR JUST LET OR LET IT SIT THERE FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. I THINK FORD SHOULD PAY VEHICLES BACK ESPECIALLY IF IT'S SOMETHING AS SERIOUS AS A BREAKING ISSUE.
THIS VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO A BRAKE SYSTEM RECALL FROM 12/2019 AND AS OF TODAY 2/8/2021 THERE STILL IS NO TIMELINE ON REPAIR. THIS BRAKE FAILURE IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND ADDITIONALLY HAS AFFECTED THE ABILITY FOR ME TO SELL OR TRADE IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO DIMINISHED VALUE AND CONCERNS OVER LIABILITY FOR SELLING A VEHICLE WITH AN OPEN BRAKE SYSTEM RECALL. THE BRAKES CONTINUE TO FAIL INTERMITTENTLY, WITH PEDAL TRAVEL TO THE FLOOR OFTEN WHEN BRAKING ON A ROUGH SURFACE.
CONCERNING: MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER 19S54 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 19V904 PARTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILABLE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020. STILL NOTHING. IS THERE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY?
THIS VEHICLE HAS ALREADY BEEN RECALLED FOR THE HCU UNIT NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I HAVE ALREADY FILED A COMPLAINT FOR THAT WITH NHTSA. THIS NEW COMPLAINT IS BECAUSE THE RECALL WAS MADE ON DECEMBER 18TH OF 2019 AND NOW OVER A YEAR LATER FORD HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO A FORD DEALER ON 01/08/21 AND THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE HCU UNIT IS DEFECTIVE BUT THEY TOLD ME FORD DOESN'T HAVE THE PART AND DOESN'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE IT. THIS IS OVER A YEAR AFTER IT WAS RECALLED. I'M SURE FORD HAS BUILT A LOT OF CARS AND TRUCKS IN THE LAST YEAR AND HAS SOLD A LOT OF PARTS SO IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT THEY CANNOT GET THIS PART. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR IF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE ENGAGES AND MOST OF THE TIME I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND PUMP THE PEDAL TO GET IT BACK TO WHERE IT SHOULD ENGAGE. THE FORD DEALER I TOOK IT TO HAD ME SIGN A PAPER SAYING THAT THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE BRAKES ARE BAD BUT FORD WON'T FIX IT AND THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ME GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. THE LAST LINE OF THE CIRCLED AREA ON THE ROCK RIVER FORD RECEIPT STATES THAT.
MY STATE AUTO REGISTRATION INCLUDED A RECALL FROM 12/19/2019. WHEN I WENT TO GET FURTHER DETAILS FROM HTTPS://WWW.NHTSA.GOV/RECALLS IT SAID FORD IS WORKING ON A FIX?? THIS IS FROM OVER A YEAR AGO - IS THERE A REPAIR AVAILABLE OR NOT? THANK YOU
I had the car serviced for a Ford Brake Recall at Watermark Ford Hundai in Marion IL. last month. When I got the car back the brakes felt the same. They go almost all the way to the floor just like before they were supposed to fix them, per the recall notice. I told the service center at Watermark Ford and they said they were fixed, and they would improve over time. They have not improved. So today (7/6/2021) I had to have brake shoes put on my car at another service center and they said the part needed for the recall had not been replaced and they could put it on for $400. I can't afford $400 for a repair that was supposed to be fixed already. I am afraid to drive my car now and it's the only one I have. Please help.
Vehicle was taken in April 2021 to perform safety recall on ABS Control Unit. I asked to have the unit replaced as i thought it was defective after 6 years of brake pedal going to floor during Anti lock brake events. Ford dealership stated that recall only called for fluids to be flushed and unit tested for pass/fail. At time of recall repair the unit passed. ABS Control Module replacement units available at this time. July 2021, 1300 miles since recall repair I was driving vehicle in the rain, pressed on brake. Brake pedal went to floor again. Took vehicle back into service to have inspected. Ford Service center said they preformed the recall repair as they were required to and now it is my responsibility to replace the defective part. ABS Control Module backordered until at least Oct 2021. Currently 600th in line. This is the scariest safety issue i have ever seen in any vehicle on the road. The inability to brake when needed especially in adverse conditions such as rain or hitting a minor bump in the road, triggering the ABS unit and the valve getting stuck open for periods of time consisting of weeks and months without brake pressure. Not only is it unsafe for the most experienced driver to use the vehicle, i also cannot morally sell this vehicle to someone else as i know how likely they could crash resulting in serious injury. Ford Corporate unhelpful, Ford Dealer Service Center knows of issue and that its defective but cant replace it under recall without corporate approval.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 1.50 YEARS FOR THE BRAKES TO BE FIXED DUE TO A RECALL, THE BRAKES GO OUT CONTINUALLY WHEN DRIVING AND I'VE HAD THEM FIXED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. WHEN LOOKING UP THE RECALL FORD STATUS THEY ARE STILL NOT READY TO FIX THE PROBLEM WHEN IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT REQUIRES ME NOT TO DRIVE MY CAR. IT IS AN UNSAFE SITUATION AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMEDIED BACK IN 2019 WHEN THE RECALL WAS ISSUED. PLEASE ADVISE AS TO WHEN THIS CAN BE FIXED.
2008 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING ABS SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A GAS STATION. THE BRAKES EVENTUALLY BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TECHNICIAN WHO DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE CONSUMER REFERENCED RECALL 19S54/19V-904. *JS
WHEN THE BREAKS ARE APPLIED DURING WET WEATHER THE CAR AUTOMATICLY LOCKS UP THE SYSTEM UNTILL YOU COME TO A COMPLEAT STOP THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN NUTRUEL TO GET IT IN GEAR TOBE ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AGAINE VERY UNSAFE ALMOST GOT REARENDED AT 80MPH THIS WOULD HAVE KILLED US.
BRAKES EXTREMELY SPONGY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BRAKES GO ALL THE WAY DOWN WHEN TRYING TO STOP
THE BRAKE PEDAL INTERMITTENTLY REQUIRES MUCH MORE TRAVEL TO ENGAGE A NORMAL BRAKING EFFORT. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN, WITH A RIGHT TURN IMMINENT. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COME TO A SAFE STOP, BUT THIS CONDITION COULD MAKE AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE IF AGGRESSIVE BRAKING IS REQUIRED AND NOT AVAILABLE, OR GIVES THE DRIVER THE SENSATION THAT BRAKING IS NOT OCCURRING NORMALLY. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF A MONTH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD WHILE COMING TO A STOP LIGHT AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT STATED USED THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MECHANIC BLED THE BRAKE LINES AND CHANGED ALL THE BRAKES HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RECENTLY THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE HIT A SMALL PUMP AND LOSS BRAKING ABILITY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THE BRAKES ENGAGED AND WORKED CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
