A couple of weeks ago My Steering wheel locked up and the codes were reset which unlocked the wheel so i was able to turn it. Mechanic said it was moisture getting to the part and then the power steering light came on & it became Hard to turn the steering wheel while driving. There was no indication of a issue before it started.
I had multiple electric power steering failures. the first in 2022, and the second in June of 2023. In 2023 we did a complete replacement that cost over $3000.
I believe my car was missed in the steering rack recall. There’s a decent amount of side to side play that just moves the steering wheel not the wheels. The car will be all over the road. Also when I’m accelerating with my foot on the gas the steering stiffness up & goes back to feeling like normal under load. As soon as there’s no driving load it loosens back up. Today it randomly almost felt like the steering got stuck for a second while going straight then quickly jerked itself to the right then went back to feeling loose. I’ve replaced controls arms, ball joints, tie rods.I do not want to crash because fords negligence on not including my car in the recall. I’m still making payments on the car and can not afford money out of pocket to fix fords mistakes. Please help! My car needs this recall! I have videos upon being needed, it will only let me upload pictures.

The steering wheel seems to have a sensor that makes the car goes side by side and it is really unsafe. I see there is a lot of recalls for Fusions on steering wheel problems but my car is not on this list. Really unsafe to drive. Is not a one time incident. The failure is every day

I was driving my 2013 ford fusion and the power steering stopped working. There was no warning prior. The power steering assist warning appeared and I am not unable to drive the vehicle. There currently an active recall for 2013 ford fusions but my vehicle does not qualified and I believe it should. I have replaced the engine and transmission and there were active recalls on those issues and my car did not qualify the recall. I believe my car should qualify for the current power steering recall.

Steering wheel is loose!
Traveling down a major interstate at 70 mph the steering assist light comes on without warning and the vehicle looses power steering. No prior indications of any problems. This could have caused a major traffic accident resulting in great bodily injury and/or death had I not been able to control the vehicle. The problem was confirmed by an auto repair shop. The vehicle was not inspected by anyone other than the repair shop. What is disturbing is that I have since discovered this is an issue with these vehicles as there were THREE prior recalls for this problem, but the recalls did NOT cover this vehicle's VIN. That's on you!
