TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED NOTICE IN THE MAIL OF THE RECALL CONTACTED HENDRICK HONDA OF CHARLESTON RIGHT AWAY, WAS TOLD THAT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL JUNE AS THE LETTER SAID, WAS TOLD WE HAD TO WAIT FOR A LOANER CAR AND WAS PUT ON A WAITING LIST. THEY CALLED US WHILE WE WERE OUT OF STATE 2 WEEKS LATER TO COME GET LOANER CAR, WE SAID WE WERE GOING TO BE BACK NEXT WEEK AND THEY SAID SO SORRY THEN YOU DON'T GET A LOANER CAR.!! THAT'S THE LAST I TALKED TO THEM. WE USED TO GET GOOD SERVICE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT BUT AS SOON AS WE CALLED ABOUT RECALL IT WAS LIKE "YOUR A NOBODY NOW" AND WE DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU. THERE WAS NOT EVEN A MENTION THAT THEY WOULD CALL US WHEN PARTS DID COME IN. I AM WRITING THIS TO LET SOMEONE KNOW THAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO MY WIFE OR BOTH US WE HAVE IT WRITTEN DOWN AS WE TRIED TO DO WHAT WAS TOLD TO DO AND TO CONTACT DEALER FOR INSTRUCTIONS AND ALL WE DID WAS GET A RUN-AROUND.

THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND METAL FRAGMENTS STRUCK THE CONTACT'S FACE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V061000 (AIR BAGS) AND WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MULTIPLE LACERATIONS TO THE FACE AND CONTUSIONS TO THE CHEST, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. TAKATA RECALL / I RECEIVED MY FIRST NOTICE ABOUT THIS AIRBAG RECALL IN MARCH 2016. THE REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE AND THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER ADVISES ME THAT THEY ARE BEING TOLD LATE FALL OR LATER. I AM NOT DRIVING THE CAR DUE TO THE RISK SEVERITY. I AM NOW ENCOUNTERING ANNUAL VEHICLE REGISTRATION HASSLES IF I DON'T COMPLETE THE SMOG CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION BY THE DEADLINE. THE OFFER OF A RENTAL CAR BY HONDA DOESN'T SOLVE THIS ISSUE. THE AIRBAG AND CAR MANUFACTURERS ARE BEING GIVEN TOO MUCH TIME TO RESOLVE THIS RECALL. PLEASE ACCELERATE THE REMEDY. *TR
AMERICAN HONDA CONTACTED ME AND SAID DEALER WOULD PROVIDE LOANER ELIGIBLE FOR DRIVING BY 16 YEAR OLD IF DEALER WOULD PROVIDE LOANER IF I TITLED VEHICLE IN HER NAME. I HAVE NO IDEA IF MY INSURANCE WILL COVER VEHICLE IF I TITLE IN HER NAME OR WHAT OTHER EFFECTS IT MAY HAVE. I WILL FIND OUT. COMPLAINT 10853276
TAKATA RECALL NEITHER DEALER ZIMBRICK HONDA NOR AMERICAN HONDA HAVE PROVIDED AN ALTERNATIVE LOANER VEHICLE. I HAVE A 16 YEAR OLD WHO DRIVES THIS CAR. THEY SAY SHE CANNOT USE A LOANER BECAUSE THEIR INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER A 16 YEAR OLD. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. SHE IS THE ONE USER MOST LIKELY TO HAVE THE CRASH AND IS PRIME USER OF THIS VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA STATING MY VEHICLE IS AFFECTED BY THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG AND IT COULD KILL OR INJURE ME OR MY PASSENGERS. THE LETTER STATES THE REMEDY PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THIS SUMMER AND I WILL RECEIVE ANOTHER LETTER WHEN THEY BECOME AVAILABLE. THAT SEEMS RIDICULOUS. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAYS THERE WILL BE NO DIFFERENCE IF I TITLE CR-V IN 16 YEAR NAME IN PREMIUM OR COVERAGE. I WILL DO THAT AND SEE IF I CAN GET LOANER SHE CAN USE WITHOUT DEADLY AIR BAGS. I'LL LET YOU KNOW. COMPLAINT 10853276.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 4-6 MONTHS TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED. HONDA IS NOT OFFERING ANY CARS TO USE IN THE INTERIM SO IT'S BASICALLY DRIVE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THEIR RENTAL POLICY COSTS MORE THAN THEY SAY AND THEY DO NOT EVEN OFFER A VEHICLE OF COMPARABLE SIZE. TAKATA RECALL - THE DRIVER OF OUR RECALLED CAR IS 17 YRS. OLD. WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO GET A LOANER/RENTAL SO WE CAN PLACE HIM IN A SAFE CAR UNTIL THE NEW AIRBAG IS AVAILABLE. OUR LOCAL DEALER IN SEATTLE WA, AND AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO WILL NOT ALLOW A DRIVER UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YRS TO DRIVE A LOANER/RENTAL WHILE WE ARE WAITING FOR THIS PROBLEM TO BE CORRECTED. THEY SUGGESTED WE OBTAIN THE RENTAL OURSELVES, BREAK THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT AND LET HIM DRIVE IT. I AM UNCOMFORTABLE ALLOWING MY CHILD TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE CAR AND I AM NOT GOING TO KNOWING BREAK THE TERMS OF A LEGAL DOCUMENT. HELP PLEASE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

RECALL AIR BAG INFLATOR DEFECT. I RECEIVED RECALL LETTER WHICH STATES THAT: "PAST RUPTURES HIKE THIS HAVE KILLED AND INJURED VEHICLE DRIVERS. THE LETTER ALSO STATES THAT REPLACEMENT PART FOR RECALL IS NOT AVAILABLE AND "WILL BECOME AVAILABLE IN THE SUMMER OF 2016". I DO NOT FEEL SAFE, I ASKED FOR A COURTESY VEHICLE SIMILAR TO MY OWN CRV, WHICH I NEED SPECIFICALLY FOR A FAMILY MEMBER 'S NEEDS. THE HONDA OF TOMS RIVER DO NOT HAVE ANY COURTESY CARS AVAILABLE AND WILL ONLY ALLOW A RENTAL WHICH THEY GET FROM ENTERPRISE. THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE SECURITY DEPOSIT AND THEY WOULD ONLY PAY UP $35 PER DAY, (BUT ENTERPRIZE HAS NO RENTALS AT THAT PRICE, AS PER ENTERPRISE) AND THEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD UP IT TO $44 BUT THAT DOES NOT ALLOW ME A SIMILAR VEHICLE WHICH I SPECIFICALLY NEED FOR FAMILY MEMBER. I CALLED AND SPOKE TO CORPORATE SPENDING HOURS OVER 2 DAYS, I WENT TO TOMS RIVER HONDAY, GOT A COMPLETE RUN AROUND WASTING ANOTHER HALF DAY, AND LEFT THERE WITH MY OWN VEHICAL WITH A RECALL FOR AIR BAG INFLATOR THAT CAN KILL ME, AS I WAIT FOR PARTS TO COME IN SOMETIME THIS SUMMER. I AM ATTACHING THE NOTICE WHICH SUPPORTS MY STATEMENTS ABOVE. I DID SPEAK TO THE MANAGER THERE, RICH HOFFMAN. I NEED TO HAVE A COURTESY VEHICLE THAT IS A CRV OR SIMILAR, BUT THEY WILL NOT PAY ALLOW IT.
