TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE CONTACTED THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER (TEAM TOYOTA OF GLEN MILLS, PA) MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED AND I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL FROM TOYOTA. THE DEALER ALWAYS CLAIMS THEY DON'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND WON'T HAVE THE PARTS FOR A LONG TIME. HOW CAN I GET THE AIR BAG REPLACED?

SAFETY RISKIF SUFFICIENT GREASE IS NOT APPLIED, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS THE SWITCH MAY DEVELOP A SHORT CIRCUIT THAT CAN CAUSE THE SWITCH ASSEMBLY TO OVERHEAT AND MELT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION SHOP WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BROKEN NECK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. * *BF CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD IT WAS SNOW COVERED THE EDGE OF ROAD HAD DROP-OFF. SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR, SHE SLID OFF THE ROAD HIT TREE, PROBABLY GOING 35MPH THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, THE ONE ON STEERING WHEEL HIT HER BREAKING VERTEBRATE IN HER NECK, NEEDED SURGERY TO FUSE TWO PERFORATES TOGETHER. "TAKATA RECALL"....IT'S TAKING TOO LONG FOR THIS REMEDY TO HAPPEN. VEHICLE IS SITTING IDLE. SOMEONE LET SOMEONE KNOW SOMETHING BECAUSE THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! INTERIM NOTICE WAS RECEIVED 'MONTHS' AGO.

TAKATA RECALL I JUST RECEIVED NOTIFICATION ABOUT THE TAKATA RECALL AND I WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE I HAVE LIVED IN HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING TEMPERATURES. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A SOLUTION AT THIS TIME. IT IS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING TO KNOW THAT YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE FOR YOU OR YOUR PASSENGERS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY LOVED ONES THAT TAKATA WAS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT IN 2004. FOUR YEARS BEFORE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. IT SEEMS UNREASONABLE THAT AFTER BUYING A CARE BRAND NEW AND PAYING IN FULL THAT YOU SHOULD DISCOVER YOUR LIFE, AND THE LIVES OF YOUR FAMILY WERE NOT TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION BY THE INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS FOR SOME TIME. IT IS INFURIATING THAT THEY DIDN'T OFFER A TEMPORARY SOLUTION, SUCH AS REMOVING THE AIR BAG UNTIL THE PARTS COULD BE REPLACED. AT THIS POINT I HAVE TO HOPE THAT MY AIR BAG ISN'T DEPLOYED FOR ANY REASON, WHICH MAKES ME VERY NERVOUS. *TR

TAKATA RECALL WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERS/SERVICE AREA TWO DIFFERENT TIMES, I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE THE NEEDED PARTS TO DO REPAIR YET. THE SUGGESTION WAS TO NOT LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT! (MILLER TOYOTA, MANASSAS, VA)

THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND TOYOTA HAS NOT RECTIFIED THE ISSUE. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED JAN 09, 2017
TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA AND I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FORT BEND TOYOTA TO DO THE SAFETY RECALL. HOWEVER, WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PERFORM THE RECALL CLAIMING THAT THEY DON'T DO RECALL ON SATURDAYS (EVEN I HAD AN APPOINTMENT). WHEN I CONFRONTED THE ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER, OMAR ADAM, WITH THE FACT THAT I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE AND I HAD AN APPOINTMENT, HE THEN TRIED TO GIVE OUT EXCUSES SUCH AS THEY DON'T CURRENTLY HAVE PARTS AND IT'S THE FAULT OF THEIR CALL CENTER (WHO MESSED UP THE APPOINTMENTS). I AM DEEPLY CONCERN AS IT'S AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING LIVES OF MYSELF AND MY LOVE ONES, BUT TOYOTA SHOWS NO CONCERN OF OUR SAFETY AT ALL. AS OF NOW, THEY STILL CLAIM THAT THEY ARE OUT OF THE PARTS AND DO NOT HAVE A DATE FOR ME TO DO THE SAFETY RECALL.

ALSO RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE TAKATA FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR. THEY ADVISED THAT UNTIL A REMEDY IS AVAILABLE THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. HOW PRACTICAL IS THAT?
