THE CONTACT THEN CALLED CHAS. H. JENKINS AND CO. (307 NC-42, AHOSKIE, NC 27910) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VIN IN RELATION TO THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V173000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) WHICH SHE LINKED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.

THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED HER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND REFERRED HER TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 117,000.

The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. Additionally, whenever the air conditioner was activated, only hot air was coming from the vents causing the windows to become foggy. The contact’s husband was concerned with the stated failures along with other electrical failures within the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

2013 CHEVY MALIBU LTZ CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65MPH NO WARNING. PLENTY OF FUEL.RADIO AND SIGNAL LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING FIRST. NEW BATTERY PUT IN, WORKED FOR A MONTH. SAME THING WHILE DRIVING THROUGH INTERSECTION. HUSBAND UNPLUGGED BATTERY AND PLUGGED BACK IN. WORKED FINE FOR A FEW DAYS. TODAY IT WOULDN'T START NO POWER AT ALL. UNHOOKED BATTERY AND IT STARTED AGAIN. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST COMPLAINT ON THIS AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED.
INSTRAMENT PANEL SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, GAS, ETC.. ALL ARE OUT. IT STARTED GOING OUT AND RESETTING AND AND COMING BACK ON THEN IT ALL JUST SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OURISMAN CHEVROLET OF MARLOW HEIGHTS (4400 BRANCH AVE, MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD 20748) AND WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON FAILURE HER TYPE OF VEHICLE HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR @32 MPH WHEN MY RADIO AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED TO BLINK OFF AND ON MY CAR WANTED TO STALL OUT I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY HAD TO TURN IN TO A PARKING LOT TO SHUT CAR OFF AND RESTART IT SO I CAN GET TO THE STORE , I HAVE A VIDEO OF IT DOING IT .I DON'T HAVE THE FEATURES WHEN YOU STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN IT SHUTS OFF AND WHEN YOU MOVE IT START BACK UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY CHEVROLET BUICK GMC CADILLAC LOCATED AT 1500 S SERVICE RD E, RUSTON, LA 71270, (318) 255-4162, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT INFORMED THAT GEAR SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (OURISMAN CHEVROLET OF MARLOW HEIGHTS 4400 BRANCH AVE, MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD 20748) FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE VEHICLE NEEDED REPLACEMENT HUBS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE REOCCURRED WITH THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (OURISMAN CHEVROLET OF BOWIE 16610 GOVERNOR BRIDGE RD, BOWIE, MD 20716) AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE VEHICLE NEEDED A REPLACEMENT BATTERY HOWEVER THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I'M HAVING ISSUES IN REGARDS TO THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. I ONLY HAVE 55 K MILES IN MY CAR AND TRANSMISSION SHOULDN'T BE GIVING OUT
2013 MALIBU ECO EASSIST THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR, THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP AND NEED A GENERATOR CONTROL MODULE..ACCORDING TO HER VIN # THEY ARE SAYING THAT IT DOESN'T APPLY TO THIS VEHICLE.. BUT IT'S THE SAME TYPE OF CAR THAT THE RECALL IS ON. THE CAR WHILE RUNNING ON HIGHWAY FOR 50 MILES OR MORE WILL START THE LOSS OF BATTERY CHARGING. IF YOU CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR WILL CUTOFF AND HAVE TO BE TOWED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TWO OR THREE OCCASIONS.
CAR SHUTS OFF AND RESTARTS ON ITS OWN EVEN WHILE DRIVING......BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS SINCE PURCHASED BUT ALWAYS TOLD ITS THE BATTERY.....I HAVE WENT THROUGH ABOUT 3 BATTERS SINCE PURCHASING IN 2015....THE OTHER NIGHT IT STARTED SHUTTING DOWN LITTLE BY LITTLE, POWER STEERING WENT, ENDED UP WITH NO INSIDE LIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS OR HEADLIGHTS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY......ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION.....THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS YET AS MANY COMPLAINTS AS I HAVE READ ABOUT THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM, STILL TOLD NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND DEALERSHIP IS MY RESPONSIBILITY.....THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE CAR HAS HAD TO BE TOWED FOR NOT STAYING CRANKED AFTER THESE EPISODES.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.

WHEN DRIVING OR PARKED THE WHOLE DASH BOARD WILL CUT OUT COMPLETELY RESULTING IN LOSS OF SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, TEMP GAUGE AND TACH. SOMETIMES IT WILL COME BACK ON SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT FOR DAYS, HAVE TO KEEP A SPEEDOMETER APP ON MY PHONE WHILE DRIVING NOW. GM SEEMS TO BE IGNORING THIS ISSUE AS THEY DO MOST ELECTRICAL ISSUES, I TRADED IN A 2000 IMPALA WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES JUST TO GET ANOTHER GM CAR WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES AT A HIGHER PRICE. I HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS AND NON OF THEM SEEMS TO HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT IT COULD BE WHICH TELLS ME GM IS NOT EVEN TRYING TO FIND A ROOT CAUSE FOR THE ISSUE, THEY ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO LET ME BRING IT IN AND HAVE THE WHOLE SYSTEM LOOKED OVER AT MY COST THOUGH. WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME THE OTHER DAY ON A CITY STREET IN A 20 MILE ZONE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT BLACK..TOOK TO DEALER THEY SAY THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE...SO I BELIEVED THEM...TILL I GET HOME AND DO A LITTLE RESEARCH...THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THIS COMPLAINT HERE ON THIS SITE...NEXT DAY I GO TO SERVICE MANAGER...HIS REPLY I HAVE BEEN HERE 13 YEARS AND NEVER SEEN THIS...OH I THINK SOMEONE IS BLOWING SMOKE?? WHO KNOWS THE TRUTH?? WHILE DRIVING 385 MILES FROM HOME THE DASHBOARD BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON. WE HAD JUST REPLACED THE BATTERY 1 MONTH PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. TURNED THE CENTER SCREEN TO THE VOLT METER TO WATCH THE CAR SLOWLY DRAIN THE NEW BATTERY. THE VOLTAGE WOULD GO DOWN, THEN GO UP, BUT NEVER AS FAR AS IT WAS BEFORE THE DECLINE. PULLED THE CAR INTO A SUPERCENTER PARKING LOT AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING, ALL POWER BRAKES, THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, THANK GOODNESS I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY. AT 80 MPH THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CONTROL. WE HAD JUST ENOUGH ENGINE TO LIMP THE CAR INTO A PARKING SPACE AND AVOID GETTING HIT BY OTHER CARS IN THIS BUSY PARKING LOT. BOUGHT NEW BATTERY TESTER, NEW BATTERY, AND TOOLS TO THE SUM OF $250.00 MAKE NECESSARY REPAIRS IN PARKING LOT. I HAD NO CHOICE, WE WERE STRANDED FAR FROM HOME IN 97 DEG. HEAT. TURNED NORTH TO HEAD HOME, WHILE WATCHING THE CAR DEVOUR A BRAND NEW BATTERY. ONCE AGAIN THE VOLT METER FROM 14.4 VOLTS TO 13.5, THEN BACK TO 14.3 TO 13.4 THE NEW BATTERY WAS GOING TO HAVE A SHORT LIFE. WE MADE IT 50 MILES ON THE FREEWAY AND THE VOLT METER WAS DOWN TO 11.8 FROM A NEW 14.4 WHEN PURCHASED. TURNED TO THE NEAREST TOWN 35 MILES EAST. WORRIED THE CAR WAS GOING TO SHUT DOWN ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 80 MPH. HOPING THE STEERING WOULD NOT GO OUT WITH OUT WARNING AGAIN. THE SCARIEST SITUATION I HAVE EVER BEEN IN, THERE WAS NO WHERE FOR US TO GO IF IT DID. MADE IT TO A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE, JUST TO FIND OUT THAT IN 85 MILES THE CAR HAD DRAINED THE NEW BATTERY WE GOT A JUMP START AND LIMPED TO A LOCAL HOTEL. ONCE AGAIN HAVING TO PULLOUT ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH NO STEERING, NO BRAKES, AND NO WAY HOME. WE CALLED A FAMILY MEMBER AND THEY SET OFF ON THE 5 HR DRIVE TO COME TOW US HOME. WE RENTED A CAR DOLLY AND PULLED OUR BROKEN CAR THE ENTIRE WAY HOME. IT SITS IN THE DRIVE WAY AS I TYPE THIS GIVING NO CODES FOR ME TO FOLLOW.
MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL SHUT DOWN AT ANY TIME. I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHERS. AFTER MANY TRIPS TO THE DEALER THEY CANNOT FIX PROBLEM. I WAS ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH WHEN POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHERS ALSO. GM WILL NOT ADMIT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I HOPE IT DON'T TAKE SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE THEY DO SOMETHING IF THAT HASN'T HAPPENED ALREADY .. PLEASE HELP....
