The contact owned a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the interior of the vehicle was filled with smoke. No warning lights were illuminated before the failure. The vehicle was driven to the rear of a local gas station. The contact noticed the fire coming from the rear passenger side area of the vehicle. The contact and staff at the station began to extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. A Fire report was filed. In addition, the fire inspector informed the contact that the fire was an electrical fire. No injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was condemned as a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

I was sitting in the house and heard a loud boom, looked outside and my dodge journey was on fire. I called 911 to get to the fire department, and went outside with the fire ext. and the fire was on the left rear of the truck. I put the fire out on the outside but it was burning on the in side and could not get the doors open. The Bardstown KY fire department arrived and put the fire out. The fire department took pictures and are making a report. There is no reason this truck caught on fire. The wires were burnt on the tail light on the left rear and the inside of the truck. My insurance has pictures also Bardstown ky fire department

Everything comes on and the battery is good, but my vehicle will not start. With my feet on the brakes and I press start it goes to run, but it's not running, and it did not start. My husband and I were 52miles away from home and I had to have it tow to the Chrysler Dodge service center in Stone Mountain, and we live in Senoia Ga. My vehicle has been in their shop for over a week, and they actually said they are trying to figure out the problem. The engine light came on and the vehicle will not start it appeared to be dead, but everything came on but the vehicle. I google the problem and I found out I'm not alone over 100 other people had the same problem with this particular vehicle. Most model from 2013 to 2017 are having the same problem. I need my vehicle to take my husband to and from the cancer center] and other places I may need to take him to see a specialist.

My car battery dies over night. Leaving me stranded. I have replaced the battery 5 times in 2 years. I have looked this problem up and there are a huge number of complaints online from Journey owners with the same issue. As a company, Dodge should stand behind their products & issue a recall to fix this problem. I can not keep affording to have my car towed and replacing batteries.

I had a loss of brake lights, tail lights and right rear turn signals while driving. Peeled back the rubber boot over the wire harness on the upper left hatchback door and found 6 broken wires and 5 chaffed to bare metal. Appears that opening and closing the rear hatch over time bent the wires to the breaking point. This could have caused a rear end collision from lack of brake lights and tail lights. Dodge forum shows this to be a very common problem with the Journeys and fortunately I was stopped and warned about the condition before a crash occurred. This is a serious issue and as an LE officer has the potential for deadly rear end crashes.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE CONTACT LOSS CONTROL MOMENTARILY OF THE VEHICLE FOR A SHORT TIME. THE CONTACT REGAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED DRIVING TO HER DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V432000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 143,000.

I WAS TYING TO GO TO LUNCH AT WORK AND MY CAR TRIED TO TURN ON THEN WENT DEAD. WHILE CHECKING KEY FOB WITH BATTERY IN MY HAND THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD STARTED GOING CRAZY. NOTHING WILL TURN ON AND NOW THE ELECTICAL SYSTEM IS JUST GOING NUTS.

STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS NO LONGER WORKING, HORN WILL NOT WORK AND AIR BAG LIGHT IS RANDOMLY COMING ON AND OFF. I BELIEVE THAT THE CLOCK SPRING MECHANISM IS FAULTY AND HAS CAUSED WIRING TO BECOME WORN DO TO POOR QUALITY OF PART AND INSTALLATION DURING MANUFACTURING. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT EVEN 5 YEARS OLD,SO PROBLEMS WITH MAJOR SAFETY COMPONENTS AND CONTROLS ARE THE DIRECT LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL UPON INSTALLATION. OTHER RECALLS RELATED TO SIMILAR ISSUES AND VEHICLE TYPE ARE CONSISTENT FROM MANUFACTURER. DO TO THE OVER ALL SAFETY HAZARD OF THIS FAULT I WOULD EXPECT THE MANUFACTURE TO HELP ASSIST IN REPAIR TO AVOID POSSIBLE INJURIES AND LAW SUITS. AFTER A SECONDARY FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT HAD REMAINED IN THE CUSTODY OF THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

VEHICLE,IN GARAGE OVERNIGHT, WHEN TRYING TO ENTER VEHICLE IN THE MORNING IT WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE KEY FOB AND NO ELECTRICAL POWER IN VEHICLE. JUMP STARTED AND TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. THEY DID AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TEST AND FOUND NO PROBLEM AND RECHARGED THE BATTERY. BATTERY WAS AT FULL CHARGE THE NIGHT BEFORE AND NO INDICATION OF ELECTRICAL DRAIN, NO LIGHTS LEFT ON. THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY WOULD NOT START ONE DAY. REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALL CONNECTORS INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WILL DRIVE FOR A DAY OR TWO THEN END UP WITH ANOTHER DEAD BATTERY. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS WHEN THE LAST TIME THE BATTERY DIED IT TURNED OFF THE ENGINE WHILE I WAS IN AN INTERSECTION AND WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT.

THE PHONE AND BLUETOOTH DO NOT WORK. THE TOUCHSCREEN WILL NOT PROMPT TO THE NEXT SCREEN WHEN YOU PRESS "PHONE" AND IF YOU GO INTO THE SETTINGS MENU, IT DOES NOT REGISTER THAT YOU ARE SELECTING "PHONE/BLUETOOTH." I HAVE TRIED DOING THIS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BOTH MOVING AND STATIONARY.

AC UNIT COMES ON AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I AM DRIVING WITHIN 10 TO 20 MINUTES OF THE CAR BEING ON. I WILL PUSH THE AC BUTTON TO SHUT IT OFF AND IT TURNS BACK ON AGAIN. I DO THIS ABOUT 20 TO 40 TIMES IN ONE DAY IF NOT FOR THE TIME OF MY DRIVE.

I HAVE JUST PAID TO HAVE MY GRANDSON'S DODGE JOURNEY REPAIRED. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR OUR VIN NUMBER. HE COULD NOT START THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE MULTIPLE FLASHING LIGHTS. THEY FOUND WATER IN THE ABS UNIT, WIRE SHORTAGE GOING TO THE STARTER, THEY INSTALLED 68194693AF REPLACED THE ABS HYA UNIT AND MODULE AT A COST OF $577.50. THE TOTAL COST TO SERVICE THE CAR TO MAKE IT START WAS $1218.55. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD FOR A COLLEGE STUDENT THAT DEPENDS ON A SAFE CAR. THE VEHICLE STARTED CUTTING OUT ON THE INTERSTATE WITH THE CAR GOING 65-70 MPH. HE PULLED INTO HIS DRIVE AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND HE COULD NOT RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP BY AAA AND WAS THERE FOR 4 WEEKS. IT WAS PICKED UP TODAY 4/03/2019. THE DATE IT HAPPENED IS AN ESTIMATE.

VEHICLE HAS 39,392 MILES. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR WARNING. TOTAL OF 5 INTSTANCES IN 3 WEEKS, CAR WILL STOP RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING, WHILE DRIVING & OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WILL LOSE ALL POWER, STEERING, BREAKS & ALL CONTROL. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATING & ON THE ROAD, DRIVING, BETWEEN 25-45 MILES PER HOUR. 3 OUT OF THE 5 TIMES, IT HAS HAPPENED AFTER A BRIEF STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THE LAST INSTANCE THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE IF A BUSY INTERSECTION FOR NEARLY 6 MINUTES, NEARLY CAUSING MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO GET CAR TO RESTART & WILL SHAKE & MAKE AUDIBLE CRANKING NOISE WHILE TRYING TO RESTART FOR 30-45 SECONDS.

DODGE RECALL R61 WELL I HAVE A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY AND I WAS HAVING TORQUE CONVERTER PROBLEMS IN WHICH THE DEALER COVERED BUT WHILE THEY WERE IN THERE THEY ALSO DISCOVERED THERE WAS AN ENGINE WIRING HARNESS IN WHICH WATER LEAKED ON FROM A MANUFACTURER MADE HOLE WHICH HAD A SCREW THAT GOT LOSE AND CORRODED MY WIRES WHICH CONTROLLED THE ABS DASH COMPONENTS LIGHTS REFERENCING TO RECALL # R61.. I'M SURE THAT THIS VEHICLE AND MAYBE OTHERS HAVE BEEN AFFECTED OUTSIDE OF WHICH THEY CLAIM. I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY MY CAR WASN'T RECALLED ON THIS MATTER?! WHEN THE PROBLEM IS IDENTICAL TO RECALL R61 ... PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME.. IT'S REALLY ASHAMED THAT ONLY SOME CARS ARE GETTING FIXED AND OTHERS ARE OUT $2000 AND MORE BECAUSE OF DATES I WHICH I KNOW NOT ABOUT BUT PROBLEMS ARE IDENTICAL.. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, IT EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DISPLAY SCREEN TURNED OFF AND ON, THE SEAT BELT ALARM ERRONEOUSLY CHIMED, AND THE PARK INDICATOR ERRONEOUSLY ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UNIVERSITY DODGE IN FLORANCE, ALABAMA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PCM WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND THE PCM WAS FLASHED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,024.

BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THEN RECEIVED A MESSAGE SAYING BATTERY SAVER MODE. CAR FUNCTION SUCH AS REMOTE START AND RADIO WERE NOT WORKING. MY BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE. 4 DAYS LATER, SAME PROBLEMS OCCURED. THIS TIME CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR EVER SINCE MY FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED.
