I was driving down the freeway and my transmission started slipping and eventually lost power, had to pull over on a 80mph freeway with my 4 kids in the car after turning on my hazard lights and wait for my husband to come get us (1 hour, due to how remote We are) he was able to limp the car home, but we couldn't even get it off of the freeway because it did not have the power to get off on an off ramp... I can't even begin to explain how scary that was to have my kids in a car on the side of the freeway while semis shook the car passing us at 70+ mph.. this is a known issue but my car does not fall under the recall and it absolutely should! The transmission oil and filter has been flushed as well as tested to make sure the solenoids are in good working order.
The contact's fiancée owns a 2015 Journey Dodge. The contact stated that while his fiancée was driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle was jerking. The driver pulled to the side of the road, called, and notified the contact of the failure. The contact advised the driver to continue driving slowly. The driver was able to slowly drive to the residence. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the transmission fluid was flushed and replaced, and a filter was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.
P0868 low pressure. current Recall needs expanded years. 2014 manufactured date is effected as well. Many things already replaced leading back to faulty pump. Viscous coupler also malfunctions in these at low milage. Flex plate fractures.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 55 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle experienced a loss of automotive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 92,076.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse at slow speeds in a parking area, the vehicle lost motive power. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000 (Power Train) but the VIN and the model year was not included. The check engine light stays on and code po740 Torque converter clutch circuit open, and the stated fix is replace converter solenoid and trans fluid and filter. Also recommends do not drive. I am qualified to make repairs and did so, cleared codes drove Approx.100 miles light returned on solid. I did research and found a recall id 16V461000 that may not have traveled through the recall system yet. I spoke to a dodge service advisor and was told that is was common and they have replaced several transmission so far this year. Part are scarce to get and Approx. $7k repair. and no recall was issued for the problem. It is my understanding that the car can loose power and no longer move as the problem progresses in traffic and on highway, poss causing an accident. All related parts that fluid travels musts be replaced including trans. oil cooler due to contamination.
When putting the vehicle into park it either shifts rite into park, shows -- on the dash, says R and it's in P for example my husband drove my car put it in the park or so he thought turned the car off and came in the house we all left a little while later I get in my car and it won't start and I look at my dash and it says vehicle not in park and it was clearly in park, went to a friend's house put it in park put my foot off the brake and it started rolling backwards look up at my dash and it's in reverse even though it is in park had to put it in neutral put my emergency brake on and turn it off use the little lever inside the center console to manually shift it into gear
When driving you can hear transmission whining van shift ok but constantly whining put in neutral and it stops. Will take it in for diagnose.Thanks.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the vehicle was jerking. The contact stated that the RPM’s increased; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure persisted and while coming to a stop at a red light, the vehicle was stalling. The contact pulled over and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking and the steering wheel was vibrating. The contact pulled over and noticed that the driveshaft had detached. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that there were bolts missing from the driveshaft. The manufacturer was contacted but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
Electronic throttle control is malfunctioning need to get replaced I was driving on a highway and lost acceleration this is very dangerous as I have young kids who are in the car with me. I've seen online where other people who own The same vehicle is having the same problem this should be recalled nationwide
The differential and the viscous coupler is what I'm having to replace now cause it is bad. The car is not that old and I'm going to have to spend around $3,500 to fix both of these parts. We could have been killed if we were driving the car, it would have locked up and caused an accident. Yes, the dealer said that it could lock up on us and damage other parts causing an accident. No, it hasn't been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. No, there were not signs and warnings lamps prior to the failure. We took it to the dealer on November 18th and have yet to get it back. We called Chrysler and opened a case. They told us that the only thing they could do is to expedite the part and the dealer has the other one. Chrysler is expediting the differential, the dealer was to get the part on December 9th. The part still isn't here. I have called Chrysler several times and nothing is being done. Today I called and Chrysler is blaming the dealer for telling them they got the part when they didn't get it. Then, Chrysler was trying to blame the shipping carrier with is UPS. I think these parts the differential and the viscous coupler should be recall before someone get killed. Chrysler has known about these parts since 2013 and they haven't done anything about it.
MY VEHICLE BEGAN HAVING ISSUES SHIFTING GEARS AT 103,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WOULD JOLT EACH TIME A SHIFT OCCURRED. IT SPECIFICALLY HAD ISSUES SHIFTING OUT OF REVERSE INTO DRIVE. THIS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY FOR A COUPLE DAYS. THEN IT BEGAN HAVING ISSUES SHIFTING WHILE ACCELERATING. I MAINLY DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE TO AND FROM WORK, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 45 MILES PER HOUR. WE IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING UNDERNEATH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHO TOLD US THE TRANSMISSION PUMP HAD GONE OUT AND WE NEEDED TO REBUILD OR REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION.
Driving back home on Dec-08-2021; about 2 miles from home I started hearing gear whine noise, only got louder. Pulled over about half mile from home, walked around the car to see if something was stuck underbody. After that, the vehicle would not engage gear when I put it in D or R. I had to press gas hard for the gear to engage, but the car unpredictably engage and would lurch forward and lose gear again. Kept doing that for until I got home. Checked underneath, oil was leaking from the trans pan. The gear would only engage when the gas is pressed hard, but the car would jump as soon as the gear engages.
The problem component is the transmission fluid pump. The issue first started while driving. the transmission started making a grinding noise. the fault code for this was P0868. Our vehicle was towed to a dodge dealership for inspection and repairs. Estimated cost is $1576.84. I have researched this issue and feel this should be considered a recall. Owners should be covered for these repairs.
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE INTERNAL PUMP WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROCKY TOP CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (3315 WINFIELD DUNN PKWY, KODAK, TN 37764) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 149,000.
I had two separate incidences. The first one occurred at approximately 96,000 miles. I went to start my car and it wouldn’t start. To my knowledge nothing was left on inside to kill the battery. I got a jump start and when I started driving my car would get stuck in 2nd gear. It would sound like it was going fast but was barely driving. I took it to the dealership where they tested it and said it ran fine, no error codes or lights appeared. After that it drove fine until approximately 105,000. I was driving on the highway at about 75 miles per hour. All of a sudden the car stopped accelerating and I had to quickly pull off the side of the highway. I turned the car off and back on and it started driving just fine. I am scared to death of driving it now.
Transmission is consistently slipping on the upshift from 2nd to 3rd gear, there is no warning light coming on.
MY 2015 DODGE JOURNEY HAS A TICKING NOISE WHEN I START MY VEHICLE. AND NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. WHEN THE TRUCK IS IN PARK OR STOPPED IT FEELS LIKE IT IS FLUTTERING OR PUTTING ALONG . THE TICKING NOISE YOU HEAR ONCE THE VEHICLE IS STARTED AND IT CONTINUES THE ENTIRE TIME WHILE DRIVING .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE. THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE DROVE AS IF IT WAS STUCK IN THE NEUTRAL WHILE HIS THE WIFE TRIED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS GUIDED OFF THE ROAD AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. ABERNETHY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (1442 E MAIN ST, LINCOLNTON, NC 28092, (704) 732-1890) STATED THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND ALL PAST RECALLS HAD BEEN REPAIRED. ANOTHER UNKNOWN DEALER SAID THE SAME AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION PUMP. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
HAVE HAD THE SUV 4 MONTHS NOW AND IT HAD DIED OUT AND RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING . IT'S AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW AND BEING TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT . ONLY HAS 82000 MILES ON IT
MY JOURNEY ONLY HAS 59000K MILES AND IT STARTED WITH A" KNOCK" NOISE WHEN I START ABOUT A MONTH AGO. MECHANIC TELLS ME THE "LIFTERS" ARE BAD AND THEY WOULD NEED TO OPEN UP THE PART OF THE ENGINE WHERE THE LIFTERS ARE LOCATED, I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS FOR THE LIFTERS, THE FRONT IS PRETTY EASY TO CHANGE BUT THE SECOND LOCATION NOT SO MUCH. ALL WILL COST ME ABOUT $1500.00 TO REPAIR. IS THERE A RECALL?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND THE SPEED DECREASED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING TO HER DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS TRANSMISSION RELATED AND A NEW ONE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
THE GEAR BOX & DIFFERENTIAL WENT OUT WHEN WE WERE TRYING TO PARK. APPLIED THE GAS PEDAL, FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE, APPLIED THE GAS MORE & HEARD A LOUD 'BOOM.' WE'RE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE PARKED, THEN SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE ENGINE. LOOKED TO FIND OUT THERE WAS GEAR OIL LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. LOOKED ONLINE @ DODGE JOURNEYS & FOUND OUT THERE HAVE BEEN A MULTITUDE OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS. HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME DUE TO BEING UNABLE TO DRIVE IT. THIS HAPPENED OCTOBER 19TH, 2019 & WE'VE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SINCE INCIDENT. OUR DODGE JOURNEY IS A 2015 SXT ALL WHEEL DRIVE WITH ABOUT 120,000 MILES ON IT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A MANUFACTURER RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES!! WE'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S GOING TO COST ANYWHERE FROM $5,000 TO UPWARDS OF $7,000 TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED AND WE STILL HAVE A VEHICLE LOAN OF $11,000 WE OWE ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY. AFTER THE CONTACT OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR A YEAR, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SLIMAN'S SALES & SERVICE (7498 LEAVITT RD, AMHERST, OH 44001, (440) 988-4484) WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAD SEVERAL UNKNOWN RECALL REPAIRS THAT HAD TO BE SERVICED AFTER THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT WAS COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION INDICATOR FLASHED ON AND OFF SINCE THE INITIAL REPAIR. ALSO, THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, BUT THE SAME INDICATOR FLASHED AGAIN. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNRESPONSIVE. THE DEALER OFFERED TO SELL THE CONTACT A NEW VEHICLE AND LAUGHED AT HER CONCERNS ABOUT THE CONDITION OF HER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
