THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE VIBRATED ABNORMALLY AND THEN STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWER OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (PATTY PECK HONDA LOCATED AT 555 SUNNYBROOK, RD, RIDGELAND, MS 39157, (601) 957-34000) AND WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT METAL SHAVINGS WAS FOUND IN THE ENGINE OIL AND THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING CAUSING VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING. IT HAS TO COAST TO A STOP AS POWER STEERING AND BRAKES GO OUT ONCE SHUT OFF. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP AND NOTHING COULD BE FOUND WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND POTENTIALLY FATAL.

THE CONTACT DROVE TO FREEDOM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM BY ED MORSE (815 E CAMP WISDOM RD, DUNCANVILLE, TX 75116, 972-427-4019) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT AND THE OTHER WIRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A YEAR LATER, WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TURNED ON THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF HAD TWO OTHER UNKNOWN AND UNRELATED RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS AGAIN DUE TO THE CRANKSHAFT; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. AS SOON AS THE GAS WAS PRESSED THE ENGINE STALLED OUT. WE WERE PULLING OUT FROM A PARKING SPOT WHEN IT HAPPENED. THIS IS NOW THE FOURTH INSTANCE IN 4 WEEKS THIS HAS HAPPENED. CLEARLY CHRYSLER HASN'T FOUND ALL ITS VEHICLES PRODUCED WITH THIS PROBLEM SIMPLY BECAUSE THE VIN# SAYS IT SHOULD BE FINE

AT THE END OF JAN/BEGINNING OF FEB I CONTACTED DODGE CARES WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTER ISSUE AND MY CAR WAS JUST AT WARRANTY OF THE THAT 30 MILES FROM WARRANTY AND WANTED THEM TO GIVE AN EXTENSION BECAUSE AS SOON AS THE LIGHT CAME ON I COULD NOT GET TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE A 2016 DODGE JOURNEY AND HAVE LONG COMMUTES. I WAS ABLE TO HAVE A MOBILE MECHANIC DIAGNOSE FOR ME. DODGE WAS UNHELPFUL AND WOULD ONLY TAKE THEIR DEALERSHIPS DIAGNOSTIC. THEN 6 WEEKS LATER IT COMES OUT THAT DODGE 2016 JOURNEYS ARE HAVING CATALYTIC ISSUES BUT MINE WILL NOT ANYTHING MAILED OUT IF AFFECTED UNTIL Q4 OF 2019 AND DODGE IS ALSO TELLING ME AT THIS POINT MY CAR WHICH IS A V4 DODGE 2016 WITH CATALYTIC FAILURE AT THE MILEAGE I TOLD THEM IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. IT REALLY DOES NOT MAKE SENSE THAT MINE WOULD NOT BE. I ALREADY PAID TO HAVE A MOBILE DIAGNOSE. I HAVE BEEN TREATED HORRIBLY BY 2 OF THERE DEALERSHIPS AND RIPPED OFF WHICH IS WHY I AVOID THEIR DEALERSHIPS LIKE THE PLAGUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. ALL RIGHT OUT OF WARRANTY!!! THE CODE P0420 CAME ON AND I NOTIFIED DODGE OF THE PROBLEM IN JAN 23 2019 AND THEN IN MARCH THEY START WITH CAT PROBLEMS. I HAVE ATTACHED THE DODGE CARES MESSAGES AND ALSO THE DODGE CHAT SUPPORT. WITH THE INFORMATION ON 2016 DODGE JOURNEY HAVING CAT ISSUES I ONLY GET THE RUN AROUND FROM THEM AS THIS IS NOT THE FIRST CASE I HAD WITH THEM. I ALSO HAD THE CAMSHAFT RECALL THEY TRIED TO NOT GIVE ME AS WELL. CASE ESCALATIONS HAVE NEVER BEEN HELPFUL AND ALWAYS COME UP WITH A REASON TO FAULT ME NOT THEM. THE CARBON MINOXIDE CAN KILL

VEHICLE SIMPLY TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAD JUST BEGAN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT AND IN THE MIDST OF A TURN WHEN THE VEHICLE FAILED. AFTER STOPPING THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I WAS STUCK AT A LARGE INTERSECTION FOR A FEW MINUTES AS TRYING TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON RESULTED IN IT JUST KIND OF JERKING/STUTTERING INITIALLY. EVENTUALLY I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON AND DRIVE A BIT DOWN THE ROAD WHEN IT TURNED OFF AGAIN BUT AT LEAST I MADE IT TO A BUSINESS' PARKING LOT. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE. NO ERROR CODES AND WOULD NOT CUT OFF ON THEM AS IT DID ME. I STILL HAD THEM REPLACE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR AS THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT IS USUALLY THE ISSUE WHEN A CAR CUTS OFF DURING DRIVING.

DURING RUSH HOUR, I WAS ON THE WAY TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER FROM DAY CARE. AS I SLOWED DOWN INTO THE TURNING/MERGE LANE AT AN INTERSECTION, MY CAR JUST TURNED OFF WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. I CAME TO A STOP AND ATTEMPTED A RESTART, BUT IT WOULD NOT ALLOW A RESTART UNTIL THE 6TH TRY. MY HAZARD LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN ON, SO I HAD TO WAVE ANGRY DRIVERS TO GO AROUND ME. IT WAS VERY STRESSFUL BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF BEING REAR-ENDED WHILE WAITING FOR IT TO RESTART SO I COULD MOVE OUT OF HARM'S WAY. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, BRAND NEW, IN APRIL 2016. I DIDN'T HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT UNTIL IT WAS 2 YEARS OLD. FOR THE FIRST YEAR, I EVEN COMMUTED TO WORK 3 HOURS DAILY. NOW, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT 3 MILES. THE ENGINE WILL SIMPLY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. WE RESEARCHED IT ONLINE AND FOUND IT WAS MOST LIKELY A CAMSHAFT OR CRANKSHAFT SENSOR ISSUE. EVEN AFTER HAVING BOTH SENSORS REPLACED, THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED. MECHANICS ARE AT A LOSS BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. SOMETIMES, I CAN DRIVE IT A FEW DAYS IN A ROW WITHOUT ANY ISSUE. I SIMPLY CANNOT BELIEVE THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL TO REPLACE THE SENSORS AND THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE NO SOLUTION TO THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE. I CANNOT DRIVE MY 2-YEAR-OLD CAR ANYWHERE FOR FEAR OF AN ACCIDENT!

WHEN I FIRST START THE VEHICLE IT MAKES A LOUD WHINE NOISE FOR ABOUT 2 TO 5 MIN. THEN SEEMS TO GO AWAY. IF THE VEHICLE SITS FOR 3 TO 4 HOURS IT WILL DO THE SAME NOISE AGAIN. "TAKATA RECALL" ON 4 OR MORE OCCASIONS MY VEHICLE HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THIS NORMALLY OCCURS WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR AFTER TAPPING THE BRAKE. THE FIRST TIME WAS ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AFTER LEAVING WORK AND STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT. IT HAS DIED WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO TAKE A CURVE AND ALSO ON A BUSY HIGHWAY OUT OF TOWN TAPPING BRAKES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC GOING ABOUT 50MPH AND ALMOST GETTING REAR ENDED. EACH TIME I WOULD HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE.

WHILE DRIVING MY BRAND NEW DODGE JOURNEY JUST PURCHASED ALMOST 2 MONTHS AGO, THE ENGINE STALLS OUT SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW, WITH THE LAST TIME BEING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF, STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKES LOCK AND CAR JUST COASTS TO A STOP. AFTER A MINUTE THE CAR CAN BE RESTARTED. NO LIGHTS COME ON TO SIGNIFY A PROBLEM DURING THIS TIME, IT JUST STALLS OUT COMPLETELY CAUSING A MAJOR POTENTIAL FOR AN ACCIDENT. BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAYS THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND THIS HAPPENED WITH 1 IN THE CAR, PUTTING US IN SERIOUS DANGER.
