WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS AFTER LIGHT TURNED GREEN. VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE AND WAS SOMEHOW NOT IN GEAR. HAD TO PLACE IN PARK THEN BACK TO DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY GOT IN GEAR. IT DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY SO HAD TO GET CAR TOWED. TOOK CAR TO DEALERS AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. SUGGESTED WE REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION FOR ALMOST $5,000. THE CAR ONLY HAS 68,000 APPROXIMATELY. CAR WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2016. STILL OWE MONEY ON THE VEHICLE AND ENDED UP TAKING THE CAR TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REBUILD ELSEWHERE.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY JEEP STARTED WHINING. THE MORE THE PRESSED THE GAS THE MORE IT WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR. I STOPPED AND TRIED GOING AGAIN AND IT WOULDN'T GO JUST THE RPM'S WAS GOING UP AND NO MOVEMENT.
THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP AND THE RPM'S WERE REALLY HIGH. COULD ONLY DRIVE 40 MPH.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR SUDDENLY WOULDNT SHIFT GEARS. RECENTLY BEFORE THAT MY CAR WAS IN A BODY SHOP GETTING REPAIRED DUE TO A FENDER BENDER A COUPLE MONTHS BEFORE. BUT I HAD NO WARNING OR NO WARNING LIGHT COME ON TIL THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER DRIVE. RIGHT BEFORE IT STOP DRIVING IT DID REV HIGH AND THEN JUST STOP DRIVING NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS BEOFEE THIS
I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC TODAY AND FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THE TRANSMISSION LOSING POWER IS IDENTICAL TO RECALL S44. WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS I OFTEN INITIALLY LOSE POWER. IT ISN'T COMING UP AS MY VIN BEING INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, BUT I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE. I SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER RECALL AND THEY OPENED CASE# 75725905 AND I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SET UP FOR NEXT MONDAY AT 10:30 AT KOONS DEALER IN VIRGINIA TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THANK YOU

THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER AND THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE THEN OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN AN UNKNOW MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK. ADDITIONALLY, THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS SHIFTED TO REVERSE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE TOWED TO AN UNNAMED DEALER, WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OR MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE PUMP AND GEAR 2 NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PREMIER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF TROY (LOCATED AT 113 US-231, TROY, AL 36081, (334) 403-4646) PROVIDED THE SAME DIAGNOSIS. UPON RESEARCH, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY TO TAKE THE CHILDREN TO SCHOOL. THE CAR WAS NOT ACCELERATING PROPERLY, THE TRANSMISSION FELT LIKE IT WAS SLIPPING, AND THE ENGINE FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE. ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. MY WIFE SHUT THE CAR OFF. SHE TURNED IT BACK ON AND ATTEMPTED TO REVERSE TO THE CURB, BUT THE CAR BEGAN MOVING FORWARD WHILE IN REVERSE. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING, AND THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING JUST FINE THE PREVIOUS DAY. WE TOWED THE CAR TO A LOCAL MECHANIC ON 09/17/2019 WHO STATED THAT THE POWER TRAIN TRANSMISSION HAS COMPLETELY FAILED, AND WE NEED TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 64K MILES. WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR JUST 2 YEARS WITH NO PRIOR PRIVATE OWNERS. WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON 09/19/2019 WITH PAULDING CHYRSLER JEEP DODGE LOCATED IN DALLAS, GA FOR A SECOND OPINION. I HAVE LEARNED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR POWER TRAIN TRANSMISSIONS ON 2016 DODGE JOURNEY. GIVEN THE AVERAGE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND OUR VEHICLE'S SPECIFICATIONS, IT SEEMS EVIDENT THAT THIS ISSUE CORRESPONDS WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2016 DODGE JOURNEY OUR PF THE DRIVEWAY. SHE DROVE 2 BLOCKS WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION AND BECAME JERKY WHEN SHIFTING. ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON WITHOUT WARNING SO SHE IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE CAR OFF. SHE RESTARTED AND MANAGED TO GET IT IN REVERSE TO TRY TO PULL OVER TO THE CURB BUT THE CAR JERKED FORWARD WHILE IN REVERSE. WE TOWED IT TO OUR DODGE DEALERSHIP AND HAD IT DIAGNOSED. WAS TOLD THAT OUR HYDRAULIC PUMP FAILED CAUSING IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO OUR TRANSMISSION. WE WERE TOLD WE NEEDED TO REPLACE OUR ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND THERE IS ONLY 65000 MILES ON IT. DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR FAULTY HYDRAULIC PUMPS CAUSING TRANSMISSION FAILURE (S44) BUT WAS TOLD THAT IT DOESN'T APPLY TO OUR VEHICLE. SOUNDS VERY SUSPECT. TRANSMISSIONS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO FAIL AFTER JUST 3 YEARS. SEEMS TO BE A RECURRENT ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. WE STILL OWE A LOT OF MONEY ON THE CAR SO WE CANNOT SCRAP OR TRADE IT. NOT GETTING MUCH HELP FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE DESPITE ALL OF THE SIMILARITIES WITH THE PRIOR RECALL. MAYBE FORCED TO PAY THOUSANDS FOR THIS REPAIR. WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED AT 60000 MILES WHICH WOULD HAVE COVERED THE POWER TRAIN. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN A PERFECT STORM. I WISH MY FAMILY COULD GET SOME HELP.

AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 26, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000. *DT*JB

TRANSMISSION SWITCHES TO NEUTRAL POSITION WHILE DRIVING CREATING A DANGER WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC.
I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION PUMP HYDRAULIC PRESSURE FOR MY MODEL VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE DODGE JOURNEY FOR THE PUMP, BUT NOT FOR MY PARTICULAR MODEL. I AM CURRENTLY HAVING ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE LOSING HYDRAULIC PRESSURE IN THE TRANSMISSION. A DIAGNOSTIC CODE IS GIVEN ALSO. WHEN DRIVING, MY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD ABNORMAL NOISES UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE AND THE TRANSFER CASE TWISTED OUT OF THE VEHICLE, SNAPPING HARDWARE AND BREAKING OFF ALUMINUM CASING ALSO FOUND LOSE HARDWARE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 65,000 MILES ON IT. THIS OCCURRED ON LEVEL GRADE THERE WAS NO INCLINES
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION SWITCH SOME TIME I FEEL LIKE SOMETHING HIT MY CAR FROM THE BOTTOM (THIS IS A VERY TIGHT SWITCH). THIS IS A FAMILY CAR WE DRIVE VERY SAFETY. I HOPE THIS IS THE WARRANTY ISSUE.

VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS HARD IN SLOW TRAFFIC. VEHICLE THEN PROCEEDS TO TURN OFF BUT ENGINE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL YOU PUT FOOT ON BRAKE PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND PUSH ENGINE BUTTON. THE DEALERSHIP RESETS CODE AND RUNS GOOD FOR ABOUT 200 TO 400 MILES AND HAPPENS AGAIN. BEEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS JERKY BETWEEN 30 TO 37 MPH AND THEN ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND VEHILCE STOPS.
THE TRUCK HAS ALWAYS SHIFTED HARD SINCE I PURCHASED IT JANUARY 2016 BUT I FIGURED IT WOULD JUST WORK ITS WAY OUT SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW. FRIDAY JULY 21ST 2017 I WAS DRIVING AND STARTED HEARING A VERY LOUD GRINDING TYPE OF NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND I WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE IT HOME ASAP. ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING (25 MPH) I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND WENT TO ACCELERATE AGAIN THERE WAS NOTHING THERE LIKE NO POWER AT ALL JUST RPMS GOING HIGHER. I PULLED OVER PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE ANYWHERE AT ALL. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND QUICKLY PUT IT IN DRIVE SO I HAD SOME MOMENTUM AND AFTER 1ST GEAR IT DID THE SAME EXACT THING. I WAS 10 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE AND HAD TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS FOR OVER AN HOUR JUST TO MAKE IT TO MY DRIVEWAY. THE NEXT MORNING I REPEATED THE PROCESS IN ORDER TO GET IT TO THE CLOSEST DODGE DEALERSHIP WHICH I DID SAFELY. NOW MY TRUCK HAS 53,500 MILES ON IT AND THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE TRANSMISSION IS BLOWN. GREAT REAL GREAT A BRAND NEW CAR AND A BLOWN TRANSMISSION? IT'S RIDICULOUS ESPECIALLY WHEN DODGE WILL NOT DO LOANER VEHICLES LEAVING ME NOW PAYING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET FOR A RENTAL AND STILL PAYING NY PAYMENTS ON TOP OF THIS ALL. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO HELP PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO ARE INCONVENIENCED IN THESE SITUATIONS. I OWN MY OWN BUSINESS AND DRIVE 150+ MILES A DAY I NEED A CAR AND NO ONE CARES. I'M SO FURIOUS AND UPSET ITS NOT FUNNY
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, THE TRANSMISSION JERKS AND IT SEEMS THAT THE COMPUTER TELLING THE TRANSMISSION WHEN TO SHIFT GEARS IS SLOW AND NOT PROPERLY FUNCTIONING. IT'S HAPPENING FREQUENTLY, ESPECIALLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN, COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP OR STARTING TO DRIVE FROM A COMPLETE STOP. ALSO PUTTING INTO PARK AND THEN TAKING OUT OF PART, THERE'S A BIT OF RESISTANCE, LOUD BANG AND HARD SHIFT.
THIS VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO ME BY CENTRAL FLORIDA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 8675 COMMODITY CIRCLE, ORLANDO, FL 32819 WITH AN OPEN RECALL. I PURCHASED AND DROVE THIS VEHICLE HOME ON 8/20/2016. THIS CAR WAS A NEW VEHICLE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SOLD WITH AN EXISTING RECALL. WHEN I CALLED TO EXPLAIN THE CAR HAD A RECALL, THEY WERE VERY RUDE AND TOLD ME THE RECALL WAS NEW AND THE PART TO CORRECT IT DID NOT EXIST AT THAT TIME.
